How to choose without getting it wrong

The ruling depends on the subject and age. Squared pages are for precision — maths, physics, technical drawing. Lines are for written work, languages and literature. Double lines are made specifically for younger classes — they help keep letters even while the hand is still getting used to writing.

Page count is simpler: the more you write for a subject the thicker the notebook needs to be. For short tasks and tests 12-18 pages is enough, for semester workbooks — 24-48, for active note-taking — 96.
